We’re getting back our confidence! We’re coming out of gloom!
We’re working in the gardens where the flowers of summer bloom!
We’ve had our fit of dreading, and we’re on the road again
To the better days before us and the old-time faith in men.
We’re getting back our courage! We have struggled and we’ve failed.
We have seen our treasures vanish; we’ve been bitterly assailed;
But our heads are high this morning and in field and shop and mart
There is good old rugged honor, with the brave old fighting heart.
We’re getting back our mettle; you can sense it everywhere.
There’s a surging of the spirit ‘gainst the sweeping tide of care.
Now we’re done with dismal doubting, on the high road and the low
Men are working for the future with the faith of long ago.

Coral Bells – Pinot Gris
This first picture is taken today, March 8, 2012. The second is taken in the middle of the summer when they are in full bloom. The blooms are really not that spectacular, but sweet and subtile. The foliage is the true winner for Jen. Even though the leaves look a little tattered, after a long winter, it still provides color and interest, in an otherwise sleeping garden. Then of course throughout the rest of the growing season, they provide a great base for almost any garden bed. A great staple!

Hellebores, otherwise known as Christmas Roses, love shade and often bloom in winter or early spring.
Return
written by: Edgar A Guest
The robins soon will call again,
And high upon the wall again
And up and down the window frames,
We’ll see the ivy creep.
It’s getting on to spring again.
The birds are on the wing again.
Old Mother Earth is yawning now
And stretching in her sleep.
The tulips red and white again
Will make a lovely sight again,
And in between the shrubbery
The daffodils will gleam.
The daisies soon will grow again
Wherever mortals go again
And flower and fern will grace the banks
Of every running stream.
The skies will soon be blue again.
The trees in garments new again
Will cast their shadows on the grass
Where little children play.
As April warms the earth again
The flowers will come to birth again
Like smiles that follow all our fears
When trouble fades away.
